Temporary air conditioning hire, supplied and installed

Sometimes cooling is needed faster than a permanent system can be repaired or installed. A compressor fails in the middle of summer, a server room outgrows its air conditioning, an event space fills with people, or old plant is being replaced and the building cannot go without. Eclipse supplies and installs temporary air conditioning across Sydney for exactly these situations.

Why temporary cooling needs more than a delivery

Dropping a portable unit in a room is easy. Making it work properly is not. Portable units need somewhere to reject their heat, usually through ducting to a window, ceiling space or outside, and many need their condensate managed. If the hot air ends up back in the room, the unit does very little.

Power is the part that most often gets missed. Portable air conditioners draw significant current, and plugging several into the same circuit, or into an extension lead, leads to tripping or overheated connections. In a server room, the one thing you cannot afford is a cooling unit that trips the circuit your equipment is on.

What we do

• Assess the space, the heat load and how long cooling is needed
• Select suitable portable units and the number required
• Plan heat rejection: ducting, ceiling venting or outside discharge
• Check the electrical supply and, where needed, install temporary dedicated circuits
• Deliver, install and commission the units
• Manage condensate so it does not become a new problem
• Remove the equipment when the permanent system is back in service

For server rooms and critical spaces, we can place units before a planned shutdown of the permanent plant, so there is no gap in cooling. For events, we plan around layout, crowd numbers and the power available at the venue.

What you receive

You receive working temporary cooling, set up safely, with a clear agreement on how long it is on site and what happens next. If the temporary units are covering a breakdown, our technicians will already be working on the permanent repair or replacement, so the hire lasts no longer than it needs to.

Keep in mind that temporary cooling is a bridge, not a solution. If a room keeps needing it every summer, we will tell you, and give you options to fix the underlying capacity problem.

Where it fits with our other trades

This is where having electricians and HVAC technicians in the same team makes an immediate difference. We can check the board and run a temporary circuit on the same visit instead of waiting for an electrician. Once the emergency is covered, our HVAC maintenance team repairs the original plant or our installation team plans its replacement. For server rooms, we can also review switchboard capacity and cooling redundancy so the next failure is less disruptive.
